Weight Loss Journey Update: Dance Fitness

Let, me give you a good laugh at my expense. I feel like when I hit my 20s my body forgot how to move in sync and all my rhythm went out the window. Nevertheless, I got back into my Dance Fitness grind this week.

These cardio routines from Dance Fitness with Jessica saved my life. When I was 223 lbs. working out was the last thing on my mind. Until her “Dark Horse” video popped up on my Facebook newsfeed one evening and changed my world. It made cardio fun. It took me back to my cheerleading and dance days, and best of all it helped me shed over 50 lbs and counting. In the beginning the majority of my fitness routine included Dance Fitness and walking. That’s it. Combine that with eating clean and the weight fell off.

Now let’s fast forward to the present. I am sitting at 169 lbs. I’ve put on a little winter fluff, but that’s OKAY. You are going to have set backs. It’s life. It’s how you handle those set backs and take control of them that matter. In the past if I gained an ounce, I gave up, I threw in the towel. “ This isn’t working…so why try? “ NOW, I take action. My set backs included, losing my job (which in turn threw me into a deep depression), a neck injury and a rotator cuff injury, but I OVER CAME IT ALL!

As I said above I am back to doing Dance Fitness regularly. I try to incorporate Dance Fitness in my fitness routine four times a week, combined with two days in the gym for cardio and lifting. This combined with clean eating has already made a HUGE difference. I am already seeing results. I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring and share my results with you all. I can not tell you how good it feels to be lifting again and part of the gym. I actually enjoy it, a LOT. The old Jamie is laughing hysterically right now. They only thing she lifted was the TV remote….

Also, I started a weight loss group on Facebook if you care to join, you can find it here. My hope is to encourage and inspire others to reach their goals and then reach for the stars. I want to share meal plans, weekly cardio challenges, workout events, and MORE! I have BIG plans, so stay tuned because I have a feeling it’s going to be a good show. Stay healthy y’all and be sure to find me on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Snapchat to follow my weight loss journey!

To be continued…
